What makes the chelated form of zinc so special?

It is a specific chelate structure, characterized by excellent absorption. Glycine molecules (known as chelating agents) surround the zinc, protecting it within the structure and preventing unwanted interaction of the mineral with other compounds such as phytates or dietary fibre. Zinc is thus transported directly to the site of absorption in the small intestine.
